project    - Vikram Residence

location  - Gurgaon

date of completion - 2021

Project brief - Renovating a 40-year-old 3BHK house in Gurgaon into a 5BHK, featuring a lift and staircase with a skylight for central natural light. Expanding kitchen, dining, and living areas, adding a party terrace with semi-covered spaces, and incorporating servant quarters and storage at the back. The design emphasizes interconnected spaces to foster family bonding while ensuring privacy

Design process - Structural retrofitting with added columns and reinforced framework. Rustic finishes combined with contemporary Indian aesthetics for elegance and spaciousness. Brick for the outer façade, with wooden finishes, white elements, and Indian stone indoors to create warmth. Common areas highlighted with Indian sculptures and artwork.

Design description - The outer façade features textured brickwork, green handmade tiles, and white finishes, creating a harmonious blend of earthy tones and modern elegance. Greenery and staggered balcony levels not only enhance views, sunlight, and openness but also bring a sense of vibrancy and connection to nature. Punctures and cantilevers add depth and emphasize the façade's elevation, creating dynamic visual interest. These elements combine to provide a striking, contemporary aesthetic while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere.
